“BENNY GOLD FOR THE HUNDREDS” JOHNSON LOW SHOE RELEASE

Los Angeles, Calif., – November 5, 2012 – The Hundreds is pleased to announce the release of the “Benny Gold for The Hundreds” Johnson Low shoe in collaboration with San Francisco based designer, Benny Gold. The shoe will be available in limited quantities at The Hundreds’ flagship locations on November 9, 2012, and through The Hundreds’ Online Shop on November 12, 2012.

Benny Gold is an independent graphic designer and creator of his signature brand, Benny Gold. The San Francisco-based brand’s mission statement is to “Stay Gold,” which not only applies to the clean in-house designs, but also the overall aesthetic that the beautiful city by the bay lends as inspiration.

“The shoe is based on the iconic Gold Gate Bridge––one of the many aspects that make San Francisco so great. I hope this shoe is as close to memorable as the bridge that it is based on.”

-Benny Gold

The limited edition “Benny Gold for The Hundreds” Johnson Low is completely inspired by San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The outer shell of the shoe is made with a rust colored patina and ostrich leather, symbolizing the bridge’s colorway, and features traces of aqua throughout the shoe to tie in the presence of the Pacific Ocean. Gradient gray and white laces complete the look and are representative of San Francisco’s infamous fog, and the tongue and insole feature a specially designed The Hundreds logo refashioned to include Benny Gold’s trademark paper plane.
