Event Coverage ~ More From Torres Empire Lowrider Car Show ~ Los Angeles

Here is another post from last week’s historic car show at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Yes, historic is the perfect adjective to describe the car show. After a number of years, the city of Los Angeles allowed a Lowrider car show to be held within the halls of the convention center. The event was such a success that the show promoters, Torres Empire have been asked to come back next year and have another show. Rumor is that the show will double in size and take place over two days. Time will tell but even if it never happens again, this show is one for the record and history books.

With the help of the convention staff and the show promoters Stephanie & I were allowed up to the catwalks to photograph the show before the doors opened to the public. We had about 10 minutes so we had to work quick. I’m very happy with what we got in the amount of time we were up there. I know some people went up to the offices and shot the show through the glass. We did not want to do that because of the glass and also because we wanted a different perspective of the show and the cars. Its not often that you can get a straight shot or in this case fisheye shot from the top of a car.

Joel from Jagster/Los Angeles CC was one of the many who busted out a new car at the show. Here is his 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible restoration. Matter of fact, Los Angeles car club debuted another black 57 rag!

Ben from Switch Happy/Rollerz Only brought out his updated El Camino to the show. I really, really like this Elco! Great work Ben!

Bobby  and Cynthia Flores’ Cotton Caddy ~ Lifestyle CC

This El Camino belongs to Alex from Neu Exposure CC. Nice!

Gotta love a Caprice!

One more from the hop!

This was a beautiful restoration from Northern California!

Marcos Gaitan 66 Impala from Northern California. Great to see you Marcos!

Rick & Mona’s Cadillac from Lifestyle CC.

Stephanie & I have thousands of photos from the weekend but we have to save them for the magazine. I did not even touch the surface with the two posts I put up. I hope you enjoyed what you’ve seen so far and if you have or have not. Leave me a comment and don’t forget to check out my Facebook fan page and “like” it!
