San Diego Convention Center — August 31, 2008 — With highly rated t.v. shows like “Pimp My Ride” and “Living The Low Life”, people across the country now understand what car enthusiasts in Southern California have known for generations: custom cars and lowrider culture are among the most vital creative expressions in the U.S.
On Sunday, August 31, 2008 the San Diego Convention Center will once again expose an amazing array of manifestations, highlighting a tradition that has emerged as an All-American pastime. For the sixth consecutive year, its floors will be transformed into a museum of custom vehicles assembled by clubs and enthusiasts from throughout the Southwest.
Over 10,000 fans will arrive on the convention center floors from across the country for the largest Lowrider and custom car show of its kind on the west coast. Opening at 10am on Sunday, August 31st with a general admission ticket price of $20, the auto show begins with a set by renowned DJ Mikeski, a legendary Southern California mix master who spins old school, hip-hop and R&B, West Coast style.

This year, the show is proud to host some of the oldest and most prestigious car clubs in the country. Amigos, Majestics, Lifestyle, Premier Car club, Imperials, Los Angeles Car Club are just a few expected to attend. These clubs are recognized for having come to define lifestyle that seeks to build unity and peace around the concepts of “cruising” and “chillin.” An all star line up of entertainment will take center stage. Past performers have included Lil Rob, legendary Brenton Wood, CLUB NOUVEAU, to name a few.
